Who are we: Graviton is a privately funded quantitative trading firm striving for excellence in financial markets research. We trade across a multitude of asset classes and trading venues using a gamut of concepts and techniques ranging from time series analysis, filtering, classification, stochastic models, pattern recognition, to statistical inference analyzing terabytes of data to come up with ideas to identify pricing anomalies in financial markets.

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly organized, process-driven Lead Quantitative Analytics to work in close partnership with the trading team. The role will support analysis across multiple strategies and market segments within the team and act as the primary analytics owner, embedding deeply into its research and trading workflows to design, build, and maintain high-quality post-trade and market data analytics.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Design and build post-trade and market data analytics dashboards with clear, intuitive visualizations for trading and research teams.
  • Translate complex datasets into actionable insights that directly support trading and execution decisions.
  • Derive market microstructure insights related to liquidity, execution quality, market impact, and venue behavior.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to explain performance drivers across strategies, instruments, and market regimes.
  • Develop advanced plots and visual tools to communicate nuanced patterns in high-frequency and market data.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for analytical storytelling and visualization quality.
  • Own research question formulation, converting ambiguous problems into structured, testable hypotheses.
  • Design and execute rigorous analyses with clear methodologies, assumptions, and success criteria.
  • Provide cross-team analytical leadership and influence analytical direction without relying on formal authority.
  • Mentor and review the work of junior quantitative analysts, providing guidance on research design, code quality, and presentation of results.
  • Contribute to building a strong, collaborative, and high-bar analytics culture.

Required Skills

  • Strong background in quantitative analysis, statistics, or applied mathematics.
  • Hands-on experience with market data, post-trade analytics, or execution analysis.
  • Proven ability to extract and explain microstructure-level insights.
  • Advanced skills in data visualization and analytical tooling.
  • Experience leading analytical workstreams and mentoring junior team members.
  • Clear communicator who can bridge technical depth and business context.

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams.
